Thank you, Anchorage recyclers, for another great year of Christmas tree recycling! ALPAR recycled 5,887 trees so far and the chips made our trails and school playgrounds better and smell great, too.
We have many folks to thank for helping make ALPAR’s Christmas Tree Recycling program a success. A big shout out to Boy Scout Troop 268. They have been providing a pick up service to Anchorage residents for over 14 years for a small donation to the troop. They use those funds for many scout activities. Thanks to CARRS-Safeway for sponsoring the program since its inception in 1995. And, hats off to the Municipality of Anchorage Solid Waste Services who sponsors the chipping of trees. Thanks to the Anchorage Parks Department, Anchorage schools and Anchorage Sand and Gravel who use the chips for trail, playground and fill projects. Thanks also to our great media sponsors at Alpha Media Radio Stations, KLEF, KSKA, ADN, KTUU, KTVA, Your Alaska Link and many more. Finally, ALPAR thanks to our chipping company, Tall Trees and his staff for running a great program again this year.
