ALPAR and Partners Recycle 6,000 Christmas Trees this year!

Christmas Tree Recycling in Anchorage 2019
Anchorage and Valley residents had one more thing to be thankful for over our holiday season: Christmas Tree Recycling! Over 6,000 trees were recycled this year (200 more than last year) thanks to a growing awareness that giving our things a new life after they become waste is the better option.

Thank you to our main sponsors for helping ALPAR bring this service to our communities:

CARRS – Safeway

Municipality of Anchorage Solid Waste Services

CARRS-Safeway has sponsored Christmas Tree Recycling since its inception in 1995. The Municipality of Anchorage Solid Waste Services is a long-term sponsor that helps us with tree chipping and outreach. We also want to thank Boy Scout Troop 268 who once again provided a pick-up service to Anchorage residents for a small donation to the troop for scouting activities. Thanks to the Anchorage Parks Department, Anchorage schools and Anchorage Sand and Gravel who use the chips for trail, playground and fill projects. Thanks also to our great media sponsors at Alpha Media Radio Stations, KLEF, KSKA, Anchorage Daily News, KTUU, KTVA and Your Alaska Link. Finally, ALPAR gives a big “hats off!” to Tall Trees and his staff for running a great program again this year.
